Lost Boys by Eva Ashwood

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 306
Series: Slateview High #1
Genre: High School, Bully, RH
Publish: August 16, 2019
Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis:

Slateview Public High is no place for a girl like me.

My whole life, I’ve been groomed as American royalty, raised to be the perfect daughter of the wealthy elite.

On my sixteenth birthday, my father bought me an Aston Martin.

And on my seventeenth birthday, the Feds took everything away.

With my father in prison for fraud and nothing left to our name, my mom and I are forced to move to a tiny house across town, and I transfer to Slateview Public.

The only problem is, nearly everyone at my new school has reason to despise my family name. They want to see a princess brought low, and they’ll do whatever it takes to make me fall.

Money was the language of my old world, but violence is the language of my new one. The only way I’ll survive until graduation is to make a deal with three gorgeous, dangerous devils—the ones everyone calls the Lost Boys.

If I accept their bargain, Bishop, Misael, and Kace will protect me.

But they’ll own me too.

This is the first book in the Crazy Vicious Love series, a reverse harem bully romance. It contains mature themes and is intended for readers 18+.

Review:

My family’s manor was expansive. We—my family, the van Rensselaer line—were often referred to as American Royalty, and if that were true, our home was definitely our palace.

Cordelia went from a big mansion to a two-bedroom house on the other side of the city. Her father has been arrested from fraud and her mother has checked out. At first, it’s a rough start to a new school but when some trouble happens and she makes a pact with the Lost Boys, Cordelia finds for the first time the world is not what it seemed.

I liked this better than I thought. I like the slow progress with the boys. I think I will read the second book. I didn’t know if I would on where the ending was going but it was better than I thought it was going to be. Can’t wait to see where Cora and the boys end up.

Last term, they broke my spirit and made me leave.
But I’m back, and ready for revenge.

This time, I’ll play the dangerous games.
And I won’t fall prey to their seductive kisses.

I’ll make them regret betraying me.
And make them squirm and beg for mercy

Those boys will go down in flames.

Revenge is book two of a reverse harem, high school bully romance that contains cursing, dark themes, MM, and sexual situations.

Review:

Well… That was disappointing.

I am not a fan of this book. I understand what they did to her, but this is taking things too far. Like bitch, what did you think was going to happen?

I want a bully romance, not a bunch of rich entitled kids blackmailing and betraying each other.

The guys are not likable. I normally love me assholes but these guys made me want to commit murder. The heroine made me want to commit murder.

Not continuing on.

Review:

When I first entered this book I had no idea how I would feel about it. Nor did I think how it would go.

I sort of like the plot. I don’t know where it is going to go after this. With that ending, I really wonder how she is going to handle the boys after this. I can tell you I really don’t like the whole ‘we are rich and British. If you are not like us we will ruin you.’ Hopefully in the next book that changes.

Moving on to the next one.

P.S. Bitch you are an American. Do you know how many good insults you could have thrown at the British bitches? Seriously!!!

The Bloodwood Academy Shifter: Semester One by Rae Foxx

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 288
Series: The Bloodwood Academy #1
Genre: RH, Fantasy, Vampire, Fae, Shifter
Publish: August 30th, 2019
Rating: 2.5 stars

Synopsis:

A Vampire, a Shifter, and a Fae… Bad joke or the start to the best time of my life?

It all started when I was doing some bare-back riding with my boyfriend, Tommy, atop a rock in Middle-of-Nowhere, Nevada. In walks a wolf like he’s my mom on a meth trip, staring at us and growling like he’s an over-protective husband.

Worse, according to Tommy, I’m growling back. Next thing I know, Tommy is halfway across the desert and I’m at an elite academy for Witches, Shifters, Vampires, and Fae looking like I was plucked out of the local trailer park. Oh wait, I was.

Bloodwood Academy for the Supernatural has only one rule: Don’t mingle with students outside your race.

So, of course, that just so happens to be the first thing I do. How can you say no to a Fae God with golden eyes, a moody Werewolf with pack issues, and a Vampire with magic fingers.

My men are not only sending everything into a whirlwind, but now my life is in danger.
It turns out that if I don’t go back to my single wide, some jealous females are going to rip my throat out.

I need to figure out why I’m connected to all of them, and why the headmaster has it out for me, before I find myself ten feet under.

At 90k words Bloodwood Academy is a full-length why choose romance with a snarky heroine, shirtless men, love scenes that will send you swooning, and no end to pulsing… muscles.

It’s not just Rae Fox, it’s Rae Foxx. There’s too much steam here for just one x.

Review:

I am not going to continue on with this series. I was somewhat disappointed. I couldn’t care about any of the characters. One of the MC’s name is Howl. Yes, he’s the werewolf. Shocker right?

The descriptions in this book make me question what the fuck is that. Example: He kind of sounded like a defrosting cow when he came

What? Do I want to know what that sound is?

Anyway, not for me. I am glad I made it through the book.

Synopsis

Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don’t fall in love with the help.
They don’t risk everything for the help.

We know what we’re up against now. Who we’re up against. But if he holds all the cards, the truth hardly matters.

The kings of Linwood want me to run. They want me far away from here, where I’ll be safe.

I won’t go though. I refuse to leave my mom behind, and the four boys who’ve each claimed a piece of my heart won’t let me face this threat on my own.

They swear they’ll do whatever it takes to end this. To keep me safe.

Since we won’t back down, fighting is our only option.

But I’ve played poker long enough to know that sometimes when you risk everything…

You lose everything.

***AUTHOR’S NOTE: The Risk is a reverse harem high school bully romance, the final book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

Review:

Damn. That ended differently than I thought.

Spoilers if you haven’t read the first two books.

Harlow figures out who killed Iris. Now she and the guys have to figure out how to take him down, without getting killed in the process. I was on a mind trip on how this would go down. I liked the ending. Wasn’t as grand as I thought it was going to be but I did like it. I like how it ended with Harlow and the guys. I don’t think I really have a favorite. I like them all.

The Help by Callie Rose

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 282
Series: Kings of Linwood Academy
Genre: Bully, RH, High School
Publish: June 13, 2019
Rating: 3.5

Synopsis:

Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don’t torture the help.
They don’t crave the help.

For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have lived on the edge of ruin, so when she finally gets a decent job offer, she moves us cross-country to take it.

Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.

She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to—the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.

But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t…

Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.

I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.

We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned…

I’m just the help.

***AUTHOR’S NOTE: The Help is a reverse harem high school bully romance, the first book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

Review:

I was loving this book until the end. The ending sucked but the rest of the book is good.

I have been in the mood for a bully romance. Instead of one bully, I got four. I wonder how this next book will play out. But I have a feeling shit is about to hit.

I don’t know how to feel about the heroine. But out of the four guys, I don’t know if I like any of them yet. I guess we will see.

Sparrowood Academy: Book 3 by Angel Lawson

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 218
Series: Sparrowood Academy #3 Final installment
Genre: RH, YA
Publish: July 29, 2019
Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis:

What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.

Or so the saying goes.

That was before Trip Cohen entered my life and dragged me to the depths of hell.

I don’t need anyone to save me but the K-Boys have other plans.

The final book in the dark, gritty, reverse harem, Sparrowood Academy Series.

Review:

We didn’t play truth or dare in The Park. Just walking down the street was the dare. Looking in the mirror was the truth.

The final book in the series. I like how it ended. It was better than the second book. The final showdown with Trip was okay. I wasn’t too overly thrilled but it didn’t end horribly. I was afraid that the ending would have been rushed since it is a trilogy, but luckily it didn’t.

I will probably read more of Lawson in the future.

Sparrowood Academy: Book 2 by Angel Lawson

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 202
Series: Sparrowood Academy book #2
Genre: RH, YA
Publish: June 27, 2019
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis:

Knock down one bully and another one takes their place.

Eden must figure out a way to live with the fallout at Sparrowood Academy after she and the K-Boys take down their leader in the gripping second installment of this series.

Review:

You can take us out of the Park, but you can’t take the Park out of us.

This was mostly a filler. But it did get good at the end. Oh, and I want to punch Trip in the balls. I want to smash Hope’s head open.

Like seriously if there are two horrible characters, it’s Trip and Hope.

I wonder what’s going to happen with Eden and the K-boys.

Sparrowood Academy by Angel Lawson

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 206
Series: Sparrowood Academy #1
Genre: RH, YA,
Publish: June 4th, 2019
Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis:

Sparrowood Academy is for the elite. The rich. The well connected.

Eden Warren is none of those things. She’s spent most of her life in Kingston, mostly hanging down at The Park with her sister, Hope. When Hope goes missing, Eden makes a last-ditch effort to find her by going to Hawk, her enemy and the leader of the K-Boys, for help.

Sparrowood Academy is filled with darkness. Entitlement. Brats.

No one knows why they’re there. Why the K-Boys and Eden are giving a shot for a world class education among the spoiled and privileged. They’ll need to take care of one another.

One thing’s for certain; there’s a target on their back.

Review:

Lawson is a new author to me. I have been in a mood for academy/college RH. If they tend to have assholes for the heroes, well, that fits my mood even better.

In this one though the asshats are not the heroes but it hit the spot. I liked Eden and the boys. The story kept me hooked that I stayed up till midnight to finish this. I haven’t done that in a while. Plus right now I am have severe case of insomnia, so finishing a book helps better than tossing and turning.

I can’t wait to see what is in store for Eden and the guys in the next book and I am seriously curious about Trip and his role with Hope.

Review:

It’s over, done!

I had a hard time getting through with this one. I wasn’t very invested in it. I wanted it to be done. And now it is. HEA, blah, blah, blah. I like the first three books and I did like the ending to this one. The ending is the reason for three stars. Anywho…

I off like a dirty shirt.
