I already know the winner of this month. I didn’t have a great month of February. I started the month out fine then all of the sudden, I was in a sort of book slump and I really didn’t get out of it till the end o the month. So with that I give you the winner of February 2017…
Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick
I have been trying to figure out for most of the day yesterday and today on what the best read in February was. The only book that really stood out in my mind was Black Ice. Out of my other books I couldn’t remember other than the three DNFs that had happened this past month. So thus is one of the reasons why Black Ice wins. It is also the highest rating book that I have read in February.
Well it is the first on February. Hope everyone’s new year is going good. It seems to be that time of month again. To chose the best read of January, the first of 2017. I mostly read a bunch of Mariana Zapata this month so many of my runners will be her’s. I do love her writing.
- Under Locke
Winner Lingus by Mariana Zapata
I don’t think I have ever smiled so much while reading a book. It happens to be the only book this month to get my first 5 stars this year. I love both characters. This is also the only book that has come close to beating The Wall of Winnipeg and Me in my favorites.
- Blackwood by Celia Aaron
- Kulti by Mariana Zapata
- Under Locke by Mariana Zapata
Looking forward to February. I have a challenge that I am doing called All the Books. It will be showcased at the top of my home page if you want to follow my progress throughout the month. I have so far I think 7 books planned for the challenge.
Have a fantastic February.
Wow November is over, it’s December and 2016 is about to be up. Where did this year go by? Well it is time to pick the best read in November. I started the month out strong and ended it sort of slightly strong. I’m not in a slump but I have so many series that I want to read the next book only it’s not out yet.
- Wicked Little Words by Stevie J. Cole & BT Urreula
- Until November by Aurora Rose Reynolds
- Fight For Me by Bethany Bazile
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
And the Winner is…
Wicked Little Words by Stevie J. Cole & BT Urreula
This book was amazing. The ending is still messing with me today. Loved it!!! Want to reread this now but I have to 1. wait for my physical copy and 2. have so many new books to read and a couple of other books I need to read that I can’t reread it right now.
- Until November
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone
- Fight For Me
Happy December readings!
Well this is kind of hard for me. I have absolutely no five star books in the month of October. I have mostly three stars and two four stars. Nothing really comes out and grabs my attention. So I am just going to pick the one that when I think back I can remember most of the story.
The Queen of All That Lives by Laura Thalassa
I’m not a huge fan of dystopian novels but I did like this series. I would recommend it and I did enjoy it. I didn’t like it as much as Thalassa’s other series that I read but it was good enough.
No runner ups this month.
- #Junkie by Cambria Hebert
- A Lover’s Lament by K.L. Grayson and BT Urruela
- Soulless by TM Frazier
- #Rev by Cambria Hebert
- #Bae by Cambria Hebert.
- The Queen of All that Dies by Laura Thalassa
This month is a little hard to chose from. I have read so many good books this past month. Three of them really stand out in my mind. They were so good and I may just do a three way tie. But I think I have a winner.
#Junkie is my winner. I ate up this book like nothing. I want more of Trent and Drew. I hope the author in the future writes more books on them. I know #Bae was the end of Romeo and Rimmel but I am not ready for the end of Trent and Drew. I’m not. I don’t want #Rev to be their last book. But I have a feeling it is.
- The Queen of all that Dies
- A lover’s Lament
Well another month has flown by. This one was a great month for me when it comes to books. There were a lot of books to choose from this month. There was a huge problem for me though. I couldn’t decide between two books. But I sat and thought about it for a while and I have a winner.
IT’S A TIE!!!
King by T.M. Frazier and The Damned by Laura Thalassa
These two books had my heart strings in knots. Hell they even managed to melt or shatter my heart. King was just an emotional roller coaster that had me on the edge of my seat. Thalassa had me almost falling in love with the Devil. THE DEVIL for crying out loud. Both of these deserve this award so I’m giving it to them.
Tyrant by T.M. Frazier
The Forsaken by Laura Thalassa
Finding Snow by Alexa Riley
Cinderella and the Colonel by K.M. Shea
Well this was very very difficult for me. My month of July has not been great at all in the book area. I wouldn’t have had any books over the 3 stars if I hadn’t reread two Harry Potter books. I won’t have either of those on this since they are rereads. But luckily on July 27th I got to pick up one book that finally broke my sucky July meh spell.
I finished this in four days but I was super busy with having to go to drag races and see some family friends. When I did finally get a chance to sit down and read, I read through this fast. I could not put it down for the life of me.
I don’t have any runner ups because nothing really stuck out to me other than The Coveted. Let’s just say July wasn’t my best picks. Hopefully I don’t have this problem in August.
It’s that time again. I haven’t read much in the month of June. I think this sort of helped with me having to choose which is the best read of June.
The Devil’s Prayer by Luke Gracias
Why I picked this book? I was blown away by it. I am still going over everything I read and that ending. I didn’t talk much about the ending in my review but man was it a cliff hanger. I wonder if there is going to be another book.
I recommend this for everyone and anyone. It will have you guessing. Once you think you have everything figured out it does a 180 on you. This is all in the journey of Denise making a pact with the devil and the aftermath of what happened. It is all in a journal that was left behind for her eldest daughter Siobhan.
Even after I finished this I had a dream about it because I couldn’t get it off my mind. I read this after Game of Thrones which was an amazing read itself. That is why this is my number one pick and monthly best read of June.
Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram
Hey everybody. For those of you who are in the U.S. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. For everyone else I hope you had a great weekend in general.
Paper Princess by Erin Watt
Ella Harper has been on moving from town to town. When Callum Royal comes into her life saying he is her rightful guardian, Ella’s world is turned upside down. Taken from a poor apartment to a mansion full of Royal men, Ella is going to learn how to survive with the sharks. Her biggest threat, Reed Royal, who only wants her gone.
This book won because of the emotion I felt throughout the book. I picked this up when it first came out. I read it with in a day or two. I can’t wait for the second one. From the sounds of the blurb it may be in the view point of Reed. But the second one isn’t going to be out until I think July. Either way the ending was a huge WTF just happened and I need the next book. Pronto.
Here are a couple of the runner ups.
- Broken Promise by Jen Wylie
- Broken Prince by Jen Wylie
