How to Kiss a Guy in Ten Days by Liwen Y. Ho

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 157
Series: Edenvale Arts Academy #1
Genre: High School, Fake boyfriend, YA
Published: Jan. 10, 2020
Rating: 2 stars

Synopsis:

Spoiler alert: It was supposed to be a pretend relationship, so why are they getting all the feels?

Hannah

When my dad went to jail, my world flipped upside down. Even my boyfriend wanted to take a break. But I’ve got a brilliant plan to show him what he’s been missing since he broke my heart.

Enter the cute new guy—Seth Spark.

Seth

When Hannah Mitchell, a girl completely out of my league, asks me to be her fake boyfriend on my first day at Edenvale, I almost lose it. A shy and awkward guy like me would never get any girl’s attention— especially a pretty one.

Never say never.

Now, I only have ten days to convince her to forget about her ex… and to give us a real chance.

Review:

Hannah’s ex broke up with her and her father went to jail. Her friend Ava spots Seth and wrangles him into their plan to make Hannah’s ex jealous. Seth finds Hannah attractive and decides he will help her out.

I skimmed and skipped most of this story. 1. It’s too young for me. 2. I wasn’t a fan of the writing style. Just wasn’t me.

Fight Like a Tomboy by Stephanie Street

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 150
Stand alone
Genre: High School, YA, Romance, Sports
Published: Nov. 3rd, 2020
Rating: 2 stars

Synopsis:

Kelly is a tomboy with a chip on her shoulder. He’s her worst enemy.

Jared Oliver. Just hearing his name makes me want to scream! He thinks he’s all that but I know better. He’s just an arrogant jerk and I want nothing to do with him. Hopefully, now that we’ve graduated, I’ll never have to see him again.

Wrong.

Kelly Harris. I’ve been crushing hard on the super-hot tomboy since the day I met her. Too bad she hates my guts. I don’t even know what I did to make her feel that way. I’d had an entire school year to change her mind about me and…nothing. She still cringes at the very sight of me. I guess she’ll always be the one that got away.

Or will she?

What happens when Kelly and Jared get thrown together one last time? Can Jared finally prove he’s not the jerk Kelly thinks he is?

Find out in Fight Like A Tomboy.

Review:

Kelly is super competitive. Jared had just moved for his senior year. After they met and raced each other in the pool, Kelly has hated Jared ever since then. Jared wants to get to know Kelly more but she isn’t making it easy.

What can I say about this? I didn’t like the heroine. She was a man hater. She hates on the hero for no reason and has a huge stick up the butt. I liked the hero but I wasn’t a big fan of this relationship.

Kelly is just rude for nothing. Why Jared liked her I will never know. He was nice to her every single time. This was a letdown. I was hoping for good haters to lovers but got a hater and a lover until hater learns not all men are the same. I just wasn’t a fan of how Kelly was written.
