Burn by Callie Hart

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Pages: 123
Series: Blood & Roses #3
Rating: 3.5 stars

I’m not safe.

I haven’t been safe for a while now.

I ran to Zeth for protection, but Zeth is in danger himself. With Julio on one side, and the leader of the Widow Makers MC on the other, the smartest thing to do would be to run. I’ve been running long enough though.
This is the closest I’ve come to finding my sister in two years.
I can’t back down now.

My right hand man’s being tortured in the basement.

The guy who tried to buy Sloane’s virginity is burning rubber in our direction.
My psychotic boss is on a mission to find me, and the girl I’m supposed to be keeping safe has landed herself right in the middle of all of this.
Just another breezy weekend in the Californian desert.

What could possibly go wrong in the next 48 hours?

Review: Wow. The ending… Damn. I am so happy I got all of these books because shit. My heart is racing. Rebel is so not what I expected. And Alexis better have some damn good talking because so far all I can think is she made some terrible choices.

I’m loving Zeth and Sloane more and more. But can Zeth be anymore bipolar with his moods. I mean seriously. Dude pick one thing and go with it. I hated this one was so short. I was on the edge of my seat. I am kind of wishing this was one whole book or two books. Oh well. I am dying to start reading the next one.

The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, translator Ralph Manheim

My edition: Library book
Rating: 3 stars

Unicorns, dragons, sprites, will-o’-the-wisps: the inhabitants of an enchated world. And into this word through the pages of an old book ventures Bastian, a lonely boy of ten or twelve. But Fantastica is slowly decaying, its childlike Empress dying. Only a real human can set things right by giving the Empress a new name. Bastain takes up the challenge, and finds himself crossing the Swamps of Sadness and the Silver Mountains meeting sorcerers and giants, bats and night-hobs, gnomes and racing snails, as he journeys bravely toward the Ivory Tower. Bastian’s quest is filled with all the wonders of myth and fairy tale. It is a fantasy adventure that will capture your heart and recapture the magical dreams of childhood.

Review: If you were like me growing up, you have seen all of the movies called The Neverending Story. Recently I was at my local library and I saw this. I didn’t know this was based on a book or else I would have read it ages ago. I quickly add this to my growing pile and went on my merry way.

Well I don’t know if I just like the movies better or if I just read this at the wrong time. I was bored. As easy of a read it seemed to take me a while to get through it. I don’t know if it is me or if this is just aimed at a younger audience. ¬†For a little while for me it seemed like it was neverending but it did end and I can’t believe this is coming out of my mouth but I will just stick with the movies. Good story but it will be just a one time read for me.

Fracture by Callie Hart

My edition: Kindle Unlimited
Series: Blood & Roses #2
Rating:3 stars

Zeth Mayfair is pretty much the last thing I need in my life. And yet with every breath I take he becomes more engrained in every aspect of it:

He has a key to my house.

He knows where I work.

He dumped his strange, mentally traumatized housemate on my doorstep and has driven off into the sunset in search of my missing sister.

I want to forget him. Want to change the locks and blot out his face, scourge his very name from my memory. The problem is that I also need him. I need him more than I need air to breath, and I can’t be without him now.

He owns me.

He torments me.

He’s fractured me.

Review: This is the sequel to Deviant. While I wasn’t a big fan of Deviant I wanted to know more about what was going to happen next. I got all the books and will hopefully finish this series by the end of this month.

I liked this one better than the first one. Zeth and Sloane seem like they wouldn’t fit together but yet they do. A big secret was revealed about Lacey which I didn’t see coming. Explains a lot of why she is with Zeth. She does open up about her past a little bit but not much. The sex between Zeth and Sloane was better in this one. I wonder why Zeth doesn’t want Sloane to kiss him. I don’t know if I like the way Sloane does tend to give into Zeth.

The ending was a huge cliff hanger. Sort of pissed me off the way it ended. But luckily I have the third book and will begin reading it some time today.
