Series: The Unearthly #5 (Final Book)
Synopsis: Off of Goodreads
Taken. Whisked away to hell. Forever bound to monstrous god. This is seventeen-year-old Gabrielle Fiori’s fate. It’s everything she’s ever feared, and it has all come to pass.
Only… the devil isn’t the monster she remembers. At times he seems gentle and, most unnerving of all, she’s drawn to him. He wants her for all eternity, and if she gives in, everything he has to offer can be hers. The only cost? The last of her soul- and her humanity.
By a twist of myth, Gabrielle finds herself back on earth from dusk to dawn. Back where the living breathe, where Andre de Leon, the king of vampires and her former soulmate, await her. Yet she can’t help but feel that something’s wrong. She’s wrong. Her blood seeds demons and her powers can move earth and air and all manner of creation.
Now angels flood the skies, gods and demons are mad flesh. A battle between good and evil is erupting, and if Gabrielle wants to escape hell and save the world, she’ll need to end it, one and for all.
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review: If you haven’t read the first four books fair warning spoilers.
Can we give praise for Thalassa’s writing? This woman almost had me fall in love with the devil. THE DEVIL for crying out loud. I felt sorry for the guy or god or whatever the heck he is.
Gabrielle was in for the battle of her life. Literally she was. She had to fight not only her head and heart but her body and soul too. She had to struggle with this power in her body that made her want to create chaos and destruction. As it is mentioned she is one of the most damned with the purest soul. She doesn’t want to be queen of the Underworld, which I don’t blame her. Gabrielle wants to be back with Andre.
Even though their bond is broken Andre and Gabrielle still feel everything they had before Gabrielle past. It made me love them more. Also again with praise to Thalassa because I was fighting myself on who I wanted Gabrielle to be with. If that doesn’t make you want to pick up this series then I don’t know what will. I was seriously starting to doubt the ship between Andre and Gabrielle should stay.
Finally the devil started showing his true colors again and my train to Asiri and Gabrielle stopped right there. Thankfully. The ship between Andre and Gabrielle stayed strong. That’s a true ship there. Even in the moment of doubt it comes back strong.
One of my main questions that probably won’t ever be answered is when the Devil punishes a demon to death, does the demon come back or is he truly dead? Just wondering.
This book like the last book did a dual P.O.V. I hate that this series ended but I’m happy too. Bittersweet endings all good series are. The only thing that I can say that is bad about this series is that there were a lot of grammatical errors throughout the series. But that is really the only bad thing I can say about the series.
