Review: I really don’t know what to say with this. The way the author made the Henchmen mc, just ugh!! They didn’t talk in complete sentences. They talked like they didn’t have any education at all.
The chemistry between the two MCs sucked. There wasn’t any. The female MC had like no common sense what so ever. Plus I am tired of this magic penis syndrome that most authors are going to now days. This woman was found after 3 months of torture and abuse by men. All of the sudden she is okay and not flinching from the male MC. That doesn’t go away in a matter of a couple of days. The author still had it were the female MC was having nightmares but there is other trauma and PTSD with escaping a crime lord. After the abuse she took she shouldn’t have acted the way she did.
The story line had some plot holes. This was a big eh! Another thing that made me mad about this is that the female MC, whose name is Summer, has sex with a guy she only knows after a few days of being out of the hell hole V, crime lord, had her in. Yeah, no, shit doesn’t work like that.
When the description of Reign, Summer described his voice as gargling glass.
I don’t know about you but that just don’t sound right or sexy. I mean I can’t even think of what that even sounds like. Plus his dirty talk wasn’t turning me on at all. One time he called her his “good little slut”. Mofo call me a slut, let’s see how long you stay breathing. Another thing is he was always slamming Summer into walls. Another freaking thing that a woman who just went through trauma like she did wouldn’t take so lightly like Summer did.
This book frustrated me. I hate to start August off with a crappy book but it looks like that’s what is going to happen. I don’t want another month like July. I want to read some 4-5 star books. Let’s hope that my next book is a 4 star at least.
