Friends vs. Family by C.L. Stone

My edition: Kindle

Pages: 438

Series: The Academy: Ghost Bird #3

Rating: 5 horrible mother stars

Review: Forever and ever my heart will bleed and cry for Sang in this book. Her mother completely loses it. The guys find out the full extent of abuse but Sang still doesn’t leave. With her mother the way she is, the boys want Sang out of the house. Since Sang isn’t willing they have to take some other measures to make sure what had happened to Sang that horrible weekend would never happen to her again.

By the end of the book, we find out that Sang’s father has some skeletons buried deep in the closet. When he up and leaves everything starts to fall down hill. In this book I also end up not liking Marie. Just the way she is all to happy that Sang is in trouble makes me want to punch her.

But also my heart filled up with the boys. The way they rushed in and got her out. The biggest one to have an effect on me is Gabriel. Towards the end of the book he won my heart.

Another good points of the book are the sleepover the guys and Sang have and the shopping trip. Lots of amounts of cuteness in there.

Monthly Recap

Monthly Best Read: May 2016

Hey everybody. For those of you who are in the U.S. I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. For everyone else I hope you had a great weekend in general.

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Ella Harper has been on moving from town to town. When Callum Royal comes into her life saying he is her rightful guardian, Ella’s world is turned upside down. Taken from a poor apartment to a mansion full of Royal men, Ella is going to learn how to survive with the sharks. Her biggest threat, Reed Royal, who only wants her gone.

This book won because of the emotion I felt throughout the book. I picked this up when it first came out. I read it with in a day or two. I can’t wait for the second one. From the sounds of the blurb it may be in the view point of Reed. But the second one isn’t going to be out until I think July. Either way the ending was a huge WTF just happened and I need the next book. Pronto.

Here are a couple of the runner ups.

  1. Broken Promise by Jen Wylie
  2. Broken Prince by Jen Wylie

Innocent Getaway by Alexa Riley

My Edition: Kindle

Series: Innocence

Rating: 0.5 DNF Stopped after second chapter.

Review: I tried you guys. I promise I did. This one was more childish than the first one. The girl, Haley acted more like a 9 or ten year old stuck in an 18 year old body. Let me point out there is a difference in being innocent and being immature. This book shows that difference in the first chapter alone.

Haley acted like a total brat because William was with a business partner (who happens to also be in a DD/lg relationship) and what does William do? He lead her over where the guy couldn’t see her ass and spanked her in front of the guy. Then he ate her out and had her lay on his sofa that he had in his office and made her go to sleep. But first he wiped out his dick so she could suck on it while going to sleep.

I don’t know about you but for me that wasn’t hot. Then when I read William’s P.O.V. he walked into their bedroom where she was asleep with a stuffed unicorn that he won her and it was called stuffy. Just the way William described her sleeping with stuffy sounded like he was watching his daughter not his girlfriend.

Total eck factor here. I used this gif in the review for the first book but feel it is much needed here.
