Veiled Obsession by Dori Lavelle

My edition: Kindle

Pages: 202

Series: His Agenda #1

Rating: 4.5-5 McAsshole stars

Review: So to say my mind was utterly blown away by this is an understatement. I am having a hard time rating this between 4.5 or 5 stars. The story was phenomenal but there were a few grammar mistakes but those really don’t matter.

Man do I love me some dark novels. This is more like one I seem to draw towards unlike Absolution. Don’t get me wrong it was a good story but just way to religion messed up bull. Now this story fed my darker side who sometimes needs that dose of reality in books. I like an obsession story. I don’t know why. I guess it has to due with my fascination with what a human can do and that we never really know what someone is capable of.

Haley meets Jude when Jude bumps into her at one of his resorts. It doesn’t really say what Haley did in order for Jude to want to hide her away and protect her until the very end of the book. (Even though it was hinted enough you can figure it out fast) Over time Jude and Haley fall in love together. They get married and are happy.

We had been brought together by tragedy, and instead of pulling us apart, that tragedy was also the glue that held us together.

But not all is as it seems. Jude starts to get jealous of Haley when she just barely looks at another man. He starts to be possessive. His real side is starting to show. When he first hits her, he walks away then comes back and tries to make up for it. By telling her all the time whenever he got a chance to say “I love you” to Haley, Haley starts to grow distant to him.

Until somewhere along the way, those three little words, valued by so many, lost their meaning and became just words in a dictionary.

The more Jude shows his love the more he is smothering Haley. Haley starts to become unhappy and it’s starting to take it’s toll on her.

I cried for the man I used to know, the man I used to love until his love killed mine.

This one seemed real. So many women go through a situation like this and it is scary. For real though Jude is off his rockers. He scared me. I seriously want to shout at Haley through the book.

When Haley decides to finally run, Jude finds her and brings her right back. Then he shows his true side.

This book had my stomach in knots. Good thing the series is on Kindle Unlimited because I need to know what the hell is going to happen next. This man is just beyond crazy. That cliffhanger man. That got me. Hopefully I can get started on the second book soon.

Unconditional Love by Kelly Elliot

Series: Journey of Love #1

Review: Guarda mi corazón.

I have read a book by this author before and I liked it. I looked up a couple of her other series she had and found this and decided to give it a go.

The prologue to this book was amazing and full of feeling. Once I started chapter one it started to go down hill. Yeah that early. Lark is at his best friend’s wedding. He keeps looking at Azurdee. The had met a year ago and felt a pull toward each other. The story kept going back and forth between the present and past. It was highly annoying.

In Wanted Gunner and Ellie were OTT but you got to see the love grow between them. In this book oh no not that. These two are already jumping in the sack at chapter three and have the insta-love feeling. They don’t tell each other what their true feeling are at first but the insta-love is there and I didn’t feel it.

There was no build up to their romance. (Hello that’s why I read these books!)

I was bored with their story. A typical virgin and player love story. Now don’t get me wrong I love that typical story but not this one. The MCs just weren’t believable to me. I wanted to smash my head against the wall just to help me get through this. Now I was feeling all of this by chapter nine. Not very far into the book.

I’m not DNFing I’m just putting off for a later date. Right now I have no drive to even continue with this story.
