If you celebrate Thanksgiving then Happy thanks giving. I do and I’ll be stuck with 20 relatives in a house 5 of those relatives are all boys under the age of 7. I have my books and I’ll be reading and cooking away.

The start of the book is with a self absorbed brat who cusses a lot.

She is self absorbed. She cusses a lot. Too much for my taste. Needs to be with the in crowd. But then she kind of changes into the nice girl. Kind of confusing.

Really doesn’t like the in crowd. (my kind of woman)

All round good guy and top dog. But he does have an ego.

This story started out bad. It kind of stayed bad through. The writing wasn’t that good. It is a novella. It has a cliffhanger but not one that would keep me up all night.
Funniest line: my inner slut bunny can be a nuisance sometimes.

Well this was on HBO so I recorded it. I then watched it this last Saturday and well can we give it up to the 80’s movies. Most of my favorites were made in the 80’s.
Movie:
The story follows Lewis (Carradine) and Gilbert (Edwards) and their band of misfits who are freshman in college. They are kicked out of the freshman dorm due to the Alpha Beta fraternity burning their house down. The band of misfits have to take residence in the gym. Due to the housing situation the college is allowing fraternities to accept freshman. Well none of the fraternities picked them. They set out to find a house of their own which they find one. It’s not the best but they fix it up. Lewis and Gilbert want to make it a fraternity. They become a chapter of Lambda Lambda Lambda. They go against the Alpha Betas in the homecoming carnival.
My opinion:
This was a funny movie. A little too many boob scenes for my taste. Lamar was probably my favorite character because he was just so funny. This movie was a classic smarts outwits brawn. The nerd gets the cheerleader. Which Lewis was kind of creepy to me. He seemed a little stalkerish. It wasn’t a total let down. It had its moments.

This is one of my fiance’s favorite movies. I’m still trying to get my head around it.
Okay let me start with what this movie is about. It follows a man who has just been released out of a mental hospital. He was sent there due to coming home and finding his wife in the shower with another man. He beat the guy up pretty bad. Well he comes home to his parents house in Philadelphia. He ends up meeting a woman by the name of Tiffany who is about as crazy as can be. She is also a slut. (Literally she lost her job over it.) She doesn’t regret it either. Not something someone becomes after their spouse dies but hey her life. Well the man, Pat, wants to talk to his wife but he can’t due to a restraining order. Tiffany says she’ll give the letter to her only if Pat does something in return. Tiffany wants to do this dance contest but she needs a partner. Well he agrees to be her dance partner.
Now my opinion on this is that the whole movie was just straight up weird. Really? Lawrence’s character is just a messed up person. Cooper’s isn’t all that great but he at least went to a mental hospital. It was just hard for me to follow. So many things were happening that I lost track of what this movie was presenting. I didn’t understand the plot if there was plot. Mostly this movie was football, dance contest, and Pat’s obsession with his wife.

Harry is back with the Dursleys once more for the summer. He is still haunted by Voldemort’s return. Hermione and Ron sent him letters but they couldn’t tell him exactly what was going on due to Dumbledore having them swear not to tell him. Harry was coming home one day which he ran into Dudley. They had a little fight then all of the lights went out. They were in an alleyway. The stars and the rest of the lights went away. It was pitch black. Then Harry knew by the sound that there was a dementor near.
Once him and Dudley get home he receives a letter from the Ministry saying he was expelled for the use of the Patronus charm in front of a muggle. Harry is then confined to his room till a rescue team comes to get him to take him to headquarters. There he is reunited with everyone. He learns about the Order of the Phoenix. Hermione and Ron have a letter telling them that they are Gryffindor prefects. Ron is then reward a new broom for being the fourth prefect in the Weasley family.

At school Malfoy is making it known that he knows certain things that he should not know. The bad part of this is he is also a prefect for the Slytherin house. People are whispering about Harry due to the Daily Profit saying lies about him and Dumbledore. The worst part is Dolores Umbridge. No explanation required. She herself is the worst part. If only I could reach into the book and avada Kardva her little pink toad face.

Umbridge is given the status of High Inquisitor and is inspecting every teacher. She puts Trewanly and Hagrid on probation. She later fires Trewanly. Harry is having dreams of a dark corridor. He dreams of Mr. Weasley being attacked which he is rushed to Dumbledore who sends Harry and the Weasley children back to Grimmwald Place.

After Christmas break everything seems to go downhill. Dumbledore had to escape the minister. This leaving no one in charge Umbridge is the new headmistress. Not good. Hagrid knew that he might have to leave sometime due to Umbridge not liking him, he brought Harry and Hermione to meet the reason why he is always injured. George and Fred end up making a the fifth floor corridor a swamp. They then left school to start their joke shop.
With parting words from Fred to Peeves- “Give her hell from us, Peeves” Only time Peeves has taken an order from anyone.

During career counseling Professor McGonagall put Umbridge down a few pegs. “I should have made my meaning plainer, He has achieved high marks in all Defense Against the Dark Arts tests set by a competent teacher.” Makes us love her even more.
Of course now the end which is incredible sad and yes I did bawl my eyes out.

The Quidditch World Cup, a big event that Harry has been invited to by Mr. Weasley. We finally get to meet Charlie and Bill Weasley. (Ron’s older brothers. Bill we don’t meet till the end of the movies and never meet Charlie which makes me mad.) It is Ireland vs Bulgaria. Ireland wins by ten points. But after everyone goes to bed they are jolted awake by Mr. Weasley. He tells them to leave. Death Eaters, Voldemort’s followers, are destroying tents and looking for muggleborn.
When they get back to Hogwarts, Dumbledore announces that they are hosting the Triwizard Tournament. It hasn’t been held in a century. The tournament is held between the three European schools Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. Three champions, one from each school, will be selected by a judge which is the goblet of fire. They then have to complete three dangerous tasks. As a new rule no one under the age of seventeen could put their name in the Goblet of Fire. The three champions are Victor Krum for Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour for Beauxbatons, and Cedric Diggory for Hogwarts. But something happens. Harry’s name is chosen by the Goblet of Fire. Harry didn’t put his name in nor did he have anyone else to do it. Nobody believes that he didn’t do it except for a few people. Even Ron doesn’t believe him.
The first task:
Dragons! The first task is dragons. They have to collect a golden egg from the dragons. Cedric pulled the Swedish short snout which he transfigured a rock into a dog to get the egg. Fleur who pulled the Welsh Green used a charm. Krum who pulled the Chinese Fireball did some sort of spell on the dragons eye. Harry pulled the Hungarian Horntail, the meanest of the bunch. Harry accio (summoning spell) his firebolt and flew around the horntail to get the egg.
They get a break in between the first and second task. But there is an unexpected task. The Yule Ball. Harry has to find someone to ask to the Ball. The Yule Ball which is held every time is during the Christmas holiday. The champions are the first to dance. Harry took Parvarti Patil, Cedric took Cho Chang (whom Harry really likes) Fleur took a boy named Roger Davis, and Krum took Hermione. (Ron wasn’t happy about that)
The Second Task:
From the first task, the egg they collected from the dragons, Harry learns that there are meripeople he is going to have to face in the second task. The clue said he would have an hour to look for something they took. Which is a big problem for Harry. I mean who can hold their breath under water for an hour. Very problematic. But who comes to the rescue not Neville like in the movie but Dobby. (Really dislike how they cut out Dobby in most of the films where he was a main character.) Dobby gives Harry Potter gillyweed. Dobby also tells Harry what is waiting for him down in the Black Lake. Both Fleur and Cedric used the Bubble-head charm. Krum half transfigured himself into a shark. Harry although was the first one to get to the hostages he was the last one to get to the top of the lake. He wanted to make sure none of the other hostages would be left behind. Fleur didn’t make it due to being attacked by a grindylows she wasn’t able to complete the task.
The next task is not until June. This was in February. A letter comes from Sirius. He tells Harry to meet him at the end of the lane in Hogsmead.

Ludo Bagman calls all the champions out to the quidditch stadium. In the stadium a maze is growing. Ludo tells the champions that they will have to get to the middle of the maze to get the Triwizard Cup. In order to get to the middle one has to go against spells and creatures in the maze. After Ludo gives this clue to everyone Krum asks Harry to come and talk to him. As they are talking Mr. Crouch comes out of the Forbidden Forest speaking like a mad man. He tells Harry that he must speak to Dumbledore. Harry races to get Dumbledore. When they return Krum had been jinx and Mr. Crouch was no where to be seen.
For the third and final task the champions are exhumed from exams. On the day of the task the champions get to see their families. Mrs. Weasley and Bill came for Harry.
The Third Task:
Harry and Cedric get to enter the maze first followed by Krum then by Fleur. Harry’s first creature he had to face was a dementor which turned out to be a boggart. He then cam across an enchantment which made the world seem upside down and that he was glued to the grass. Harry heard Fleur scream ahead of him. Harry moved his right foot and then all was okay again. Harry ran into a Blast-Ended Skerwt which he had a chance to slow down. He then heard Krum use an unforgivable curse on Cedric. Harry hurried to Cedric’s aided. Harry runs into a sphinx that tells him a riddle which he must get right on the first try to get past her. As soon as he gets past the sphinx he gets to the cup right as Cedric does. But a spider comes out and attacks Cedric. It takes both of them to get the spider stunned. Harry then tells Cedric to take the cup but Cedric tells Harry to take it instead. They both grab it together thus ending the Triwizard Tournament.
He’s Back!!!
Harry finds himself along with Cedric in a graveyard. Wormtail and Voldemort is there. Wormtail helps bring back the Dark Lord by flesh, blood, and bone thus bringing Voldemort back to full strength. Harry duels Voldemort. When their wands touch it make priori incantatem. Through this Harry sees his parents again for a brief time. He then escapes from the graveyard back to Hogwarts. If only that is where the trouble stops.
Jo did it again. I so am trying hard not to cry. Mainly because I’m at work. Rating 5 triwzard cup stars out of 5.
